MINUTES OF PYA MEETING Held on Thursday, August 5, 2004

President Jake Reinhardt called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Sue Ryckman read the Minutes from the previous meeting. Motion to accept Minutes by Diane Horning seconded by Kelly Harlach. Treasurer Dave Horning read the treasurer's report. AP Member Kelly Harlach made a motion to accept the treasurer's report, seconded by Vice President Diane Horning.
FOOTBALL: Coordinator Troy Harlach present. Practice is under way. Can Drive fundraiser will begin now running through September 11. Drop off cans and bottles to PYA Building. A Scratch-Off fundraiser will also be held. Date to be announced. Bishop Photography was contacted to do team and individual pictures. Sign-ups for food booth will be handled by Sue Ryckman and Kelly Harlach. Discussion of equipment orders and ability to refurbish helmets. NOFA would like all games held on Sept. 11 to have a patriotic theme coinciding with three-year anniversary. Kelly discussed getting the community involved with sponsoring floats for a mini parade.
CHEERLEADING: Nicole Begin and Joe Della Penta present. Practices are under way. Cheerleading will join football in the Scratch-Off fundraiser. Cheerleading will also be doing individual fundraisers: Candle sales, Pom-Poms. Discussion that if girls sell so many candles, they will be able to purchase uniform pants. Contact Joe or Nicole for further information. CheerZone will take place on October 17 at Royhart Central School. Discussion regarding purchase last year of jogging suit by Jennifer Losson. Sue Ryckman will contact and make a request that Ms. Losson attend the September PYA meeting to get exact details of what occurred.
SOCCER: Coordinator Steve Chapman present at meeting. Reports that the league will be split in two next year, with one-half of the funds going to the travel league, and one-half of funds going to the 10 and under league for start-up. Steve has been in contact with four individuals that would be interested in running 10 and under league together. Plans to have a meeting at his house to discuss and finalize arrangements. Due to limitation of fields, discussion is ongoing as to whether a limit may need to be set for sign-ups for soccer. Discussion with Oakfield is also presenting some different alternatives and ideas. There has been a request by Mr. Clark at high school to have the food booth open during the home high school soccer games. Steve is in discussion with him to make arrangements. Steve Chapman and Bruce Hackett were presented with plaques from the traveling teams as a thank you for their hard work and dedication.
BASEBALL: Coordinator John Wetzel present at meeting. Senior League is completed. Finished with a 14-0 record. Senior League will receive shirts from the baseball league for a winning season. Monies still need to be collected for the Duroshed fundraiser. Discussion was had of returning funds to interested parties and cancelling fundraiser. Both John Wetzel and Jake Reinhardt have resigned their positions with baseball.
SOFTBALL: No Coordinator present at meeting. No new news.
BASKETBALL: Coordinator Brian Swank present. Done for the season. Would like to have a coaches meeting in September with sign-ups in early November in order to get an earlier start of practices. WRESTLING: Coordinator Dave Horning present. Banquet at Roseland park was a success. Wrestling is done for the season.
OLD BUSINESS: Bricks have been replaced at back door of PYA building. .
NEW BUSINESS: Brickhouse Corners will be September 11. President Jake Reinhardt called to set everything up. Will be set up in the same spot as last year. Will have a pig roast. Sue Ryckman to get sign-up sheet started and call to remind volunteers. Will also post it on the website. Treasurer Dave Horning suggests using some of the funds to purchase new grills. Steve Chapman discussed possibility of getting grills made by someone local. Steve will be in contact with Dave.
NEW MEMBERS: Lisa Salim and Mark and Becky Dibble.
President Jake Reinhardt made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:10 pm., seconded by Treasurer Dave Horning. The Next meeting will take place Thurs., September 2nd at 7:00 pm.
