OLD BUSINESS:
Meeting was had with Mr. Mix, Mr. Boyd, Mr. Englebert, and the PYA Board on March 10th. Very productive meeting. Emphasis was agreed that coaches and coordinators are to make sure every child has left before the coach leaves, and no child should be in schools before the coaches arrive.
Parents and coaches need to supervise every child that is in attendance during games and practices.  The old saying: "It takes a village to raise a child" applies with PYA. It is every adults' responsibility to ensure that PYA continues the ability to use school premises.
Mr. Boyd is open to having a meeting with each coordinator or committee at the beginning of each particular season to discuss responsibilities of PYA regarding use of facilities and what each sport would expect to be happening during their season.  Please take advantage of this. Copy Mr. Mix on e-mails or phone calls.
Emphasis was had on "chain of command" for coaches and parents.  Parents should go to coaches, coaches to coordinator, and coordinator to school and PYA Board.  Individual coaches should not be contacting Mr. Boyd without going through the chain first.  This will ensure that everyone knows what is happening and consistent responses.
Mr. Boyd will get a facility layout of places where practices are held to ensure that PYA puts everything back where it belongs.
Importance of PYA coaches, parents, and children knowing and understanding that how they present themselves and conduct themselves is reflective of both PYA and the school district.  Due to our events occurring at the school facilities, it tends to have a connection with the school.
If something does get damaged during practices or there is a dangerous situation for the children, report it to the coordinator immediately, who will report it to the school.
Parents and spectators need to respect games and practices that are already in session.  Watch where you walk, it could be dangerous to all.
Parking is restricted to the school's paved parking lots.  Handicapped parking is available on the drive off of 77 by the football and tennis courts.  No vehicles should be past this point.  No driving on the track.

NEW BUSINESS:
Our computer guru Jim Puskas attended the meeting. We have signed him up as our computer web guy for 2005. He will try to change the background color or font color of the News and Information page for easier reading.  If Sue Ryckman gets the minutes of the meeting to Jim by the Friday night after the meeting, Jim will have the minutes on the web site by Tuesday of the following week. Sue Ryckman will contact Jim and put him in contact with Steve Chapman regarding getting a link added to the web site for the soccer schedule.

Akron will be hosting a NYSCA seminar to certify coaches.  The seminar is scheduled for June 7th, from 6:00-9:30.  The cost is $20.00 per person that would like to get certified.  The meeting is geered more towards cheerleading and football, but a big emphasis is on dealing with parents, players, coaches, referees, umpires, etc.  It is also beneficial to the sport to have state certified coaches. Please contact a sports coordinator if you would be interested in attending.

COMMITTEES:
Food Booth:  Becky Dibble was present at meeting.  Cleaning out of the building will occur on Saturday, April 23, at 10:30 am.  Coordinators for each sport will be requested to be there.  As well, the school will be asked to either be there or to get their equipment organized and sorted before that date.  If it hasn't been used, it will be excused! Volunteers are needed to clean and help organize the food booth.  Please contact Becky Dibble at 762-8945 to help out.  If you are a member, this is one way to meet your requirements of a member.
