MINUTES OF PYA MEETING Held on Thursday, March 2, 2006

President Kellie Kelsey called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm. Secretary read the Minutes from the previous meeting. Motion to accept Minutes by Kellie Kelsey, seconded by Rebecca Dyson. Treasurer Christie Ludwig read the treasurer's report. Kellie Kelsey made a motion to accept the treasurer's report, seconded by Rebecca Dyson. $3849.75 in General Fund.
FOOTBALL: CM Jaime VonKramer present at meeting. Voting took place at NOFA meeting, changing weight limits to 105, 135, and 155 respectively per team; changed birth dates to November 5, or end of season. Football committee meeting on Feb. 28. Tentatively looking at May 1 and 2 for football sign-ups $1551.95 in account.
CHEERLEADING: Shannon Johnson, and Rebecca Dyson present. Need use of facility forms to be filled out for sign-ups possibly May 1 & 2. Purchasing new mascot uniforms. Looking at registration fee of $65.00. Buying hair pieces. Cheerleading Board meeting Sunday to discuss coaches and games. $1903.29 in account.
TRAVEL SOCCER: Coordinator Steve Chapman present. Girls U12, U14, U16 girls and U12 Boys full. U16 Boys are on the fence. Need more registrations. Right now have 8 kids signed up. Budget for soccer submitted to the Board. $777.77 in account.
NON-TRAVEL SOCCER: No CM present. $1033.73 in account.
BASKETBALL: Coordinator Roy Neeland present. Final game Saturday. 6th grade tournament on March 11 at High School gym, need to get Use of Facility form filled out. Alexander having a 5th grade boy's tournament this Sunday. Had a good year. Each team will be hosting their own pizza party. Grossed $1200, net $400 in sale of doughnuts, pizza, water, & Gatorade during games. $638.32 in account.
SOFTBALL: Coordinator Kellie Kelsey present at meeting. Have 10 girls for 11/12 yr. olds - need some more to sign-up. Have 19 girls on 10 and under. Would like to have more sign-ups to make two teams. Looking for coaches. League meeting next week. Contact Kellie if interested in coaching. $879.68 in account.
BASEBALL: Coordinators Brian Swank and Christie Ludwig present at meeting. 123 kids signed up. Sign-ups are closed. Have 1 Babe Ruth team, 3 11/12 yr. old teams, 1 9/10 yr. old team, 3 7/8 year old teams, 2, poss. 3, T-ball teams. Went over rules and schedules at commissioners meeting. Pitchers rule changed back to 3 innings. Met with coaches and handed out conduct forms for coaches, parents, and players. Purchased all the balls, 3 sets of catcher's gear. Need bats and bags. Al Miano and parents have set up a baseball clinic on Sundays at the high school. See new business for more info. $2197.82 in account.
WRESTLING: Tom Patterson not present. Christie Ludwig reports going into heavy part of season with tournaments. Tournament scheduled for April 2nd at Pembroke HS. Will be selling pancakes, pizza, hotdogs, and hamburgers from 6:00am-3:00pm. Need help with cooking and selling food and drink. $808.23 in account.
FOOD BOOTH: Becky Dibble not present. Purchased two cash registers at a cost of $99.00 a piece. Will be scheduling a date for clean-out of the building. Would like to have coordinators there to clean up their equipment also. Need more of a community involvement in working in food booth.
OLD BUSINESS: None.
NEW BUSINESS: Baseball clinic: Al Miano and parents will be hosting a baseball clinic on Sunday afternoons at the high school, open to all interested. There will be stations set up to practice different skills. 7-8 yr. olds will be 3-4:00pm, 9-10 yr. olds 4-5:00pm. Will start this Sunday and run through end of April. For more info, contact Al Miano.
Discussion had with Chris Tatarski regarding wanting to coach, and the Board's decision to not coach this baseball season. Chris defended his character and had a list of character references.
Membership fee for Head Coordinators of each sport are waived, if they choose to be a member. Co-committee members' membership fees will be reduced to $50.00 if they choose to be a member. All requirements for yearly membership will be applied.
$5.00 fee from each registration to General Fund will be waived for 2006 season, pending review. Due to the fact that it was a very successful 2005 year with the food booth.
If a particular sport is in definite need, General Fund will help out with up to $200.00 that will not have to be paid back. Any amount more would be under review, and would need to be paid back to the General Fund. The above is subject to annual review.
Pizza Pantry purchased and will donate 2 Pizza Warmers to PYA. PYA was looking at purchasing the pizza warmers at $30-$40 a piece, but Christie Ludwig reports Pizza Pantry's generous donation. Thank You to the Pizza Pantry.
Each sport is responsible for purchase of First-Aid kits. PYA will purchase ice packs for each sport. The ice packs will be under lock and key, and coordinators and PYA board will have keys.
COMMITTEES: Scholarship Committee has been formed. Kellie Kelsey, Steve Chapman, Becky Dibble, and Rebecca Dyson. Applications will be in high school office tomorrow. Applications need to be returned by the middle of May. Two scholarships of $500 a piece will be awarded.
NEW MEMBERS: The following have renewed their memberships or became new members for 2006: Tammy/Cary Alexyn, Carol Bruning, Gloria/Louis Moretti, Peter/Michele Sformo, Kelly/Mike Smielecki, Tracy/Jim Sutherland, Leslie Swimline, Dave/Donya Vaughn, Jaime/Jeff VonKramer, Brenda Waff, Scott Birkby, Marianna/Gerald Fagan, Amy Howes, Debbie Kwiatek, Mike/Mary Lewis, and Beth/Ken Lipinski.
Kellie Kelsey made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:10pm, seconded by Sue Ryckman.
The Next meeting will take place Thurs., April 6, 2006, at 7:00 pm. In cafeteria.
