MINUTES OF PYA MEETING

Held on Thursday, March 1, 2007

BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT:

                       President Brian Swank called the meeting to order at 7:04 pm.  Johna Swank read the Minutes from the previous meeting. Motion to accept Minutes by Brian Swank, seconded by Christi Ludwig. Treasurer Christie Ludwig read the treasurer’s report. Brian Swank made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report, seconded by Johna Swank. $560.80 in General Fund.     

At the executive meeting it was discussed getting website in order. There is still a need for a softball coordinator.

FOOTBALL:
Scott Birkby present at meeting. They have 10 people on committee. On February 18 they had a meeting. April 30 might have sign-ups. Looking into fund raisers.  There is $89.08 in account.

CHEERLEADING:
No coordinator present.  Coaches are in place. Nothing else to report.  $2,915.39 in account.

TRAVEL SOCCER:
Wendy was present. Youth 14-16 year olds may join together with Alexander. All other teams are set. $673.14 in account.

NON-TRAVEL SOCCER:
Lindsey Dibble and Amy Howes present. They had one sign-up so far. Next one will be March 8, from 6-7:30. Plan to run from May to July. $2,014.93 in account.

BASKETBALL:
Roy Neeland present. Season has ended except for one tournament. Planning pizza parties.  $1,431.93 in account.

SOFTBALL:
Kelly Kelsey will run softball again this year.  She’s having mandatory meeting on March 12 for parents and also for sign-ups.  $-26.63 in account.

BASEBALL:
Brian Swank & Christie Ludwig  present. Had sign-ups. There are 3 tee-ball, three 7 & 8 year olds, one 9 & 10 year olds, and two 11 & 12 year old teams. Filled out paperwork for fields for April.  There is spring training on Sundays. $1,651.91in account.   Additional news is that Babe Ruth is starting their own organization. There will be no cost to PYA. This is for 13 – 15 year olds. They will be called “ Dragons Baseball.”

WRESTLING:
Tom Nichols present. One month left. Tournament on April 1 canceled. Selling lottery tickets. Took team trophy at Whalen - Cohocton tournament. $937.88 in account.

FOOD BOOTH:
Becky Dibble present. Nothing new to report.

COMMITTEES:
Waiting on by-laws to be reprinted by Pete.

OLD BUSINESS:
  We did re-instate $5 fee for this year starting with Baseball.


NEW BUSINESS:
See if it’s possible for Wrestling to pay for some tournaments.

NEW MEMBERS:

Make up new member cards.

Brian Swank made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:46 p.m., seconded by Johna Swank.

The Next meeting will take place Thurs., April 5th 2007, at 6:30 pm. in cafeteria.
